RFID is the abbreviation of Radio Frequency Identification, which is translated into electronic tag in Chinese, also known as unlimited radio frequency identification technology. With the continuous progress of society, the continuous development of science and technology, and the accelerated pace of life, people require simple and fast methods in more aspects of life, and electronic tags came into being. Nowadays, electronic tags have been widely used in modern people's daily life.

In recent years, the domestic RFID industry chain has developed very rapidly. At present, each tag can be achieved at 0.4 yuan, basically reaching the popular application price of 5 cents recognized by the industry. The annual production capacity is also 6 billion tags, which can meet the needs of today's and even future market applications. However, the cost of RFID monomers has not only not decreased but has increased. How can it be popularized? In recent years, with the hype of the concept of the Internet of Things, the radical promotion of replacing barcodes with RFID tags has given RFID technology an omnipotent halo, but at this seminar, the participants showed a calm and rational attitude towards the application of new information technology.

At the 7th China Radio Frequency Identification Technology Development International Seminar with the theme of "Application, Innovation, Development - Promoting the Construction of the National Product Information Traceability System", experts and scholars from upstream and downstream RFID industry chains, solutions and end users, as well as government departments discussed the hot topics of the industry such as the architecture, encoding, carrier technology, typical application mode, technological innovation, and system construction of automatic identification technology in the product information traceability system.

Through the discussion of the application and technology of the product information traceability system, the analysis and summary of the application and practical experience of information technology in the construction of the product information traceability system, and the implementation of the deployment of the State Council and various ministries and commissions on strengthening the construction of my country's product traceability system, it will undoubtedly play an important and positive role in enhancing my country's independent innovation capabilities in information technology and the core competitiveness of enterprises. It is reported that there are more than 300 product information traceability system projects that have been applied for, covering 9 application areas: agricultural products, meat products, alcoholic products, dairy products, hazardous chemicals, electronic supervision code applications for drugs, and building materials and equipment.

Tan Min, the expert group leader of the National 863 Plan RFID Technology and Application Major Project, said that significant achievements have been made in chips (18000-6c), tags, packaging equipment, UHF readers, system integration and middleware, and test platform construction. Shanghai currently has more than 200 RFID companies, with an industry scale of 6.7 billion and R&D investment of 620 million. People from the Information Technology Department of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission said that Shanghai has technology but weak business models and marketing capabilities, and smart cities and mobile payments are opportunities for RFID in the future.

It is understood that domestic RFID standards are about to be issued, and some industry insiders believe that the technical difficulties that need to be overcome now are the localization of UHF RFID chip design and process manufacturing to achieve safe, independent, and controllable product information traceability.
